I spent a summer doing construction for Tom Stuart Construction in North Salt Lake. As a general laborer on a footings crew, I worked with other crews to form footings and walls for concrete tilt-up commercial real buildings. I also learned how to read and implement construction plans for those buildings, lay and tie rebar, place foam panels for insulated buildings, and pour and finish concrete. In the video, I'm assisting a crew stabilize the panels as they're placed. It was humbling to work 50-60 hour weeks in the hot Utah summer.
In addition to concrete work, I've enjoyed working on various home renovation projects. From installing windows, forming walls, and pouring footings for walls, I've worked on several projects driving up the value of where I live and making great friends a long the way. All of the work was properly permitted where necessary and under the supervison of a lisenced general contractor.
